I have a client who is using webstat 2.0 to analyze their site activity.
Under the section “TOP 50 TRANSFERS BY REFERING URL” I realize what most of
the data means. However, it appears we get most of our hits from
“Spider/Proxy” and second most hits from “Yahoo!/homepage”. I know what a
proxy server is and I know what a spider is in regard to search engines
using them to index web sites. however could you put this in perspective in
regard to Webstat. Does this mean that most of our “hits” come from spiders
indexing our pages?
Thanks a million and look forward to your response.
