question about output statistics

hello-

my ISP uses the wwwstat program to generate statistics, but was unable
to help me with the following question:

in the "total transfers by agent" section (browser type), most of the
entries are coded as "mozilla" with a version number (like Mozilla 2.0).

what are the required capabilities/features to qualify for the various
mozilla "version numbers"?  

(i want to know what types of site upgrades will cause a significant
portion of my viewing audience problems viewing my site)
