can't define TIEHASH using -dns option

When I try to call wwwstat-2.0 with the  -dns  option, I get the following
message:

AnyDBM_File doesn't define a TIEHASH method at
/home/brian/wwwstat-2.0/wwwstat line 1340

I have looked, but can't seem to find an explanation.  Any ideas?
