Measuring email traffic - anything like wwwstat

To the assembled masses ...

I'm using wwwstat successfully to monitor web access through an Internet 
gateway for our internally connected PCs. I'm now wanting to find out if 
there is any similar product which can log and analyse email traffic. I'm 
currently running Solaris 2.3 with sendmail and pop3 server.

While I appreciate this is not the correct forum for this request, I 
assume it's the sort of thing other webmasters get asked for.
