non truncating proxy logs

Here is a part of line from my Apache log, I run it as proxy.

<snip> "GET http://www.nokia.com/elem/pics/nmg.gif HTTP/1.0" <snip>

I have now tryed all variation of TruncateLine and TruncateFile 
options without correct results.  I just end up with a line in 
wwwstat log like :

http:/www.nokia.com/elem/pics/nmg.gif
     ^
note, just one / has dissapeared, no truncation what so ever
I even tryed the patch from Feb 18 to no avail.
Any explanations, patches, clues, fixes even flames are welcome.
