Thanks for posting the patch, but I strongly recommend against
changing the Version or the CHANGES file. The reason is that
it makes it nearly impossible to combine patches from others, since
everyone would need to change those. In addition, it would interfere
with any later "official" assignment of the same version number.
It is better to simply include comments in the patch file that
describe the changes. Also, if the individual changes are separable,
it is better to use separate patch files.
In theory, it should be possible to organize changes into a pot
and then let everyone on the list vote on which to include in the
next official release. This is essentially how the Apache Group works,
but wwwstat is a much smaller scale project. The list membership is
now large enough to perform a good review of suggested changes, but
it will require someone to organize the patches and the votes.
I can generate new official releases once people decide on the changes,
but that's about the limit of what time I have available to spend on wwwstat.
