ssl problem/question

I installed openssl, Crypt::SSLeay, and the libwww-perl-5.48. (FWIW, I
installed them in a private library since I don't have root access.)

When I use http everything's fine, but when I take exactly the same URL and
change 'http' to 'https', I get the following error:

	Error: 500 Can't connect to acc-ny.smithbarney.com:443 (Bad hostname
'acc-ny.smithbarney.com')

And, of course, the same URL works fine from my browser.
