Proxy Authentication

I'm sorry for not being able to find this anywhere, as I'm sure this must be
mentioned somewhere.

I tried to install some Perl-Programs, which turned out to make their
"low-level" access thru libwww.

After installing all necessary modules an executing said program again I get
an

"Proxy Authentication failed".

I'm living behind a squid-proxy firewall here. It first needs to get a
username and password before letting me out into the net.

I think the program uses HTTP:Access or something like that. The program I'm
using ist disc-cover which in turn uses FreeDB to access a CDDB.

Any help on how to authenticate to a proxy (a code snippet would help) is
appreciated.

Maybe I can dig into FreeDB and add support for proxies.
