Hi all,
I am new in this field, and so far I have had a pretty extreme
experience with libwww. I was trying out the basic commands. First of
all, I get something to this effect:
Prototype mismatch: sub main::__need_size_t vs () at (eval 46) line 1.
String found where operator expected at (eval 185) line 1, near
"&__const 'struct sockaddr'"
(Missing operator before 'struct sockaddr'?)
What does that mean? But still I get a prompt asking for a URL. I typed
in my own address, and my machine (Linux 2.2.5-22smp, PERL 500505)
completely crashed, and took the video card completely out!!! Believe it
or not, it had to be replaced. Now...I am just a teensy bit edgy about
going ahead again.
I have looked for similar things already on the list, but found none
addressing this. Comments or suggestions are much welcomed!
