make test (robot/ua) fails

hi,

while testing the libwww-perl-5.44, the test robot/ua fails:

     ...
     base/status.........ok
     robot/rules-dbm.....ok
     robot/rules.........ok
     robot/ua............HTTP Server terminated

and 'make test' hangs:

     mortirolo:/usr/lib# ps aux | grep ams
     ams       5326  0.0  0.4   976   580  p3 S    12:54   0:00
     make test
     ams       5349  0.0  1.3  2332  1672  p3 S    12:54   0:00
     /usr/bin/perl t/TEST
     ams       5374  0.1  2.4  3772  3164  p3 S    12:55   0:00
     /usr/bin/perl -w robo
     ams       5375  0.1  0.0     0     0  p3 Z    12:55   0:00
     (perl <zombie>)

i'm running perl 5.004_04 on debial  linux, kernel 2.036 and i've built
all the prerequisites.
can anyone suggest what may be wrong? please, cc me as i'm not on this
list. tia,
