|Thanks for the info Doug. I've tried it on Solaris and it works fine. 
|However I'm actually going to run it within a Win32/NT 
|environment and I 
|think it might fail due to the wrong method names used by 
|ActiveState Perl. 
|Could you please advise? Thanks!!

I have used proxy authentification with the vanilla LWP package on NT with
no problems.
