Status of LWPng?

I've noticed that LWPng has been at version 0.23 for a while now. Has
development stopped? Is anyone accepting bug reports/patches for it? I've
written a module that provides a really simple procedural interface to
saving and scanning URLs (which are trivial things to do, but surprisingly
involved to do "right"), using LWPng. Although it works well in general,
there are a few things I had to workaround (like the completely inconsistent
handling of die()), and I wonder if there is any point in reporting those
problems.

I'll probably submit my module to CPAN someday when the process seems less
intimidating, since it's a useful piece of code and the progress meters look
cute, but if LWPng is dead there's not a lot of point.
