Yes, I have run into that problem myself. It appears that the RedHat
5.0 Perl installation was built in /tmp, then moved to the correct
location. Unfortunately, the /tmp directory still shows up in the
Perl configuration information, so "make install" tries to put your
new modules in /tmp.
I solved the problem by explicitly calling out the proper Perl
location when I ran Makefile.pl. I don't have access to my Linux box
here at work, so I can't give you the full command. If you need the
command, email me directly, and I'll get it from home.
BTW, it's fixed in RedHat 5.1.
