wwwhttp.pl

Hi,
We are maintaining an old webrobot implemented in Perl4 and I'm new to
this job. When we updated our system to Perl5.004 and run the program,
the system had run out of memory due to segmentation fault. We found out
that the declaration 'require "sys/sockets.ph";' is causing the
trouble. It resulted in a very large number of subroutine calls to other
functions like stddef.ph, sockaddrcom.ph etc..

Replacing the declaration with 'use Sockets;' did not cause the
segmentation fault, but the program gives a "Connection failed" message
and puts out a section of code from wwwhttp.pl and dies. Are we doing
something wrong here? Do we have to update the package wwwhttp.pl? If
so, please suggest ways to do it.

We request your valuable suggestions to help us through the problem.

Thanks in advance
Ben
