Last time IO::Sockets error handling was discussed, I attempted
to get a consensus on how errors should be handled. During this
time I developed Error.pm with the intension that IO::Socket
would use it, but nobody seemed interested. So I assumed that
nobody really bothered about IO::Socket current error handling
which is to return undef and set $@
