I'll have to plead ignorance on that question. I was a USENET fan in my
younger days, but I'll admit that I no longer have the time to stay on
top of many different newsgroups.  Mailing lists with filtering are my
modus operandi now. Although I guess using a news-to-mail link would kill 
two birds with one stone...

I wouldn't say there is a dearth of CGI/Perl resources.  As with any
medium (mail vs USENET), you are at the mercy of the skill-sets and
willingness-to-help of its participants.  Randal was able to answer my
question that no other CGI list readership could address. Would
creating a 'cgi-perl' list fill a void that 'webprog', 'cgi-list', or
'ADV-CGI' do not cover? Maybe not, or at least in my case, only if
Randal was subscribed. :)
