When I first started using libwww (a month or two ago), I asked much the same
question, and got one or two RTFM anwsers. 

It almost seems like a rite of passage they make you go through, like a kung-fu
master learning to control the power before being taught how to use it.  ;)

The "cookbook" that is available online is a great place to start.  One page,
wth simple examples.   I'd also reccomend bookmarking the WWWLib man pages
online, nothing better than having netscape open to a copy of the manual to
help you along.
