make test errors on Linux

I got the following errors on make test with 5.08:

robot/ua............/home/ixlabs/perl5.004/bin/perl: can't resolve symbol '__inet_ntoa'
local/http........../home/ixlabs/perl5.004/bin/perl: can't resolve symbol '__inet_ntoa'

I have no problems building on my Sparcstation or on other Linux boxes.
It seems to be a library problem of some sort.
Does anyone have any ideas how I would go about fixing this?
