What you are describing seems to be pretty straightforward CGI type
programming. I don't quite see why you need to use cookies to pass
variables. But at any rate, I think your best approach would be to
geta hold of "CGI Programming on the World Wide Web", published by
O'Reilly and Associates (author's name forgotten by me). It will give
you the information that you need in a much more useful format than I
(or anyone) could via email.
