Can't build/install LIBWWW

I can't get the libwww to test properly (which of course means that I don't
have it built correctly).  I've built, tested, and installed perl5.003 on a
Sparc-20, Solaris 2.4.  It complains about IO::Socket & MD5.

"Checking for IO::Socket. failed
Can't locate IO/Socket.pm in @INC at Makefile.PL line 30"
et ceterra...

AND

"Checking for MD5 .... failed
Can't locate MD5.pm in @INC at Makefile.PL line 70."

I've pulled the IO (version 1.5) off the net and built it,
instaled et ceterra, but to no avail.  

I don't know what to do next
