I had a need for this at one point, sat down and wrote
LWP::SSLeayIO, LWP::SSLeaySocket, LWP::Protocol::https
and some other gunk. I had trouble trying to leave
existing classes alone, this required duplicating much
code. I got as far as the server logging an error
about invalid SSL something or other.
But, due to time constraints, got around my problem
another way. My biggest mistake was writing this in
the source tree, later forgetting, deleting, argh.
My need for this will arise again at somepoint, if no
one else has added support by then, I'll go back to
the drawing board.
Hmm, HTTP::SDaemon too I suppose :-)
