Intercepting HTTP

I'm a newbie to libwww-perl, so forgive me if this is old hat. What I'd like
to do is intercept some HTTP request on port 80, say, and examine and massage
them at will before sending them on to the actual HTTP server. Is there a way
I can do this with libwww-perl? (I guess this is effectively writing my own
proxy-server, right? I'm still kinda feeling my way around.)

I'd then like to grab the response from the actual server and examine it before
sending it back to the browser.

Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!
