Undefined subroutine "main'_POSIX_C_SOURCE"

I just downloaded libwww-perl-0.40, for perl4, and I am trying to do the
simplest of http request, just to get my foot in the water.

But whatever I try I get this error,

-- Undefined subroutine "main'_POSIX_C_SOURCE" called at
/usr/libdata/perl/sys/cdefs.ph line 3.

I can't even get the 'get' command to print it's usage menu.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance..
