Doug,

Gary, the author of Crypt::MD5 has agreed to leave the current MD5 in
its state and offer a Crypt::MD5 that has a "using" relationship with
Neil's MD5 module. As soon as this Crypt::MD5 is available, Gisle can
decide, which of the two suits better. Currently there's no additional
value in Crypt::MD5.

So no patch is needed to libwww.
