[MacPerl] STDERR Buffer Flush in MacPerl 5?

MacPerl 5 seems to buffer STDERR whereas Perl 4 doesn't. I've tried various
permutations of $| to no effect.

STDERR output is invariably buffered, and there's no flush call, at least
not that I could find.
