Yes. This is the pattern I also noted. Like Nik I figured that it had
to be the nth URL checked, but then I found out that the URL causing
the problem was actually the one before the crash. It probably leaves
the socket in some weird state?

The server I had problems with wasn't an HTTP/1.0 server.
