libwww-perl problems

I am having some problems setting up Momspider, and I thought you all might
have some insight into the situation.

I have successfully set up Momspider on several machines running SunOS, but
I am setting it up for the first time on a Solaris machine. Step one in
the process is getting libwww-perl up and running. It is not cooperating.
I have perl 5 installed, and when I try to run things like the HEAD program
I get a fun new strange result:

> HEAD http://www.hotwired.com/
HEAD http://www.hotwired.com/ HTTP/1.0
Bus error (core dumped)

Here is the wierd thing: I run it with debugging turned on and step through
the process, and it works.

I try to think about things that are obviously different between what I
have done on previous machines and what I am doing now, and there are three
glaring differences. One, it solaris. Two, I am using perl 5. I have
perl 4 installed, but not all of the Perl 4 libraries. I try running under
perl 4 and I get the same error. The third error is old reliable when it
comes to libwww-perl - the sys/socket.ph library. Of course its not
installed, so I ran the C program and generated a quickie. The numbers are
slightly different then when I run it under SunOS.

Please send me e-mail if someone wants to take a crack at this and needs
more details. I know I couldn't figure it out based on what I just
revealed. But I don't know where to look anymore. I already cleared out
two different segmentation faults caused in the library. I am pretty
surprised it is hassling me this much.
