I think my thoughts can also be applied to libwww-perl:

	The reason I do not go to Perl 5 now is that Perl 5 does not
	have nearly as wide-spread as Perl 4.  Since libwww-perl and
	perlWWW are distributed to the public, they would not be very
	useful packages if they required Perl 5.  Only a limited few
	would be able to use the libraries/programs.

	I think it is best to wait until Perl 5 is finally released in
	a "non-alpha/non-beta" version, and that sufficient
	documentation is available for it (like a newer edition of the
	Camel book).
